NewsbreaksCooperative Accreditation Agreement Formed Two accreditation bodies, the Continuing Care Accreditation Commission (CCAC) and CARF, announced a cooperative accreditation agreement for organizations providing assisted living, adult daycare and health-enhancement services. Susan Ganson, director of quality and education for CCAC, said consumers are the ultimate winners when organizations commit themselves to a rigorous certification process. Under the agreement, a provider already accredited by CCAC, or one seeking CCAC accreditation, may concurrently apply for accreditation by CARF. Sauder Manufacturing Acquires Wieland Furniture Sauder Manufacturing Co., manufacturer of church seating and a leading supplier of seating furnishings to education, healthcare and government facilities, announced it had acquired privately-held Wieland Furniture Co. Weiland Furniture manufactures lounge group seating and tables for healthcare, institutional, contract and government markets worldwide. Under the general terms of the transaction, Weiland Furniture will be operated as a wholly owned subsidiary of Sauder Manufacturing. Wieland Furniture will retain its company identity. Moen Announces Plant Expansion Moen Inc. announced its largest capital investment to date--a $32 million expansion of its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility that is expected to add 150 new jobs and significantly upgrade the plant's production capacity. In two phases, over three years, the expansion will add 70,000 square-feet to the Moen facility. Completion of the first phase is expected in late 2001. The plant is located in Sanford, N.C.
